Q&A With Jonathan Myers - Author of The Unfinished

Question-Jon what is it like to be only two months away from the release of your book in bookstores, Amazon, and Kindle, to be released February 7,2017?

Answer-  It is very exciting and it's been an extremely humbling experience. It has been a long process to get this point. I started writing the book in December 2015;  it took me three weeks to write it. It took me 4 months to find the right publisher to fulfill the needs of the book. Publishing a book does not happen over night. While the publishing process is lengthy I have found it is important to find the right people to work with to not only meet my needs as the author but to understand the work and ensure the readers will too. Over the past months my work with my publisher has only reasserted my confidence in my book. The most exhilarating part of this process is my anticipation of how you, as the readers, will relate to Dean Jacobs and his global adventures.

Question- Many of my fans have asked me: What inspired you to write the book?

Answer- It's a funny story.When I was between jobs I found myself with an abundance of time on my hands. I was doing some light house work and listening to the mid-day news. The anchors were reporting on red light camera and surveillance drones. I thought to myself that it was not that long ago that there was a country under total surveillance; which did not work out to well for the USSR. I had no reason to believe that this level of surveillance would work for Americans who know nothing but freedom. That concept planted the seed in my head for The Unfinished and Dean Jacobs was introduced to the world.

Question- What made you decide to write a book?

Answer- I decided to write this book, because I love to write. Also I want to leave something in this world for everyone to enjoy. Something that will last over time. I truly hope that one hundred years from now that a teenager will find this book in a library, and read it. Then find the book enjoyable.

Question- What do you want all your readers to know about you Jonathan Myers?

Answer- That I am just a humble man from a small rural town in Upstate New York. That I am a happily married man, and I have a beautiful family. Family is very important to me. There is nothing I would not do for my wife, children, and grandchildren. I sincerely hope I convey that in this book; that Dean finds out how important family is. I am a man that works hard at everything I do. I do not take no for an answer. I always have my readers at heart when I write.


Question-  Your readers are important to you. What do you want to say to your readers?

Answer- For my readers that are in school still. Stay in school. Work hard and get the best grades you can. In today's world you need a good education. With out it your chances of finding a successful career diminishes drastically. As for everyone else. Don't give up on your dreams. Don't let anyone tell you that you cant do it. If it is your dream then make it happen.

Question- What ages did you write this book for?

Answer- I wrote this book for the ages of 13 and up. I wanted to write a book that everyone would enjoy.

Question- What made you come up with a man like Dean Jacobs?

Answer- Well Dean is a lot like myself. He is kind of a quiet man. A man that is invisible. An unnoticed type of man. There are stories of assassins that use knives, guns, and hand to hand combat. I wanted to make a Dean as a assassin that uses a unique way of silencing his targets. A way for him to be invisible. Dean is the type of assassin that you will never know he was there, until it was to late. That's why I came up with the way he does it. I also made Dean as a type of man that I hope all my readers will relate to.

Question- Is this going to be the only book written by you? If not what other ones do you want to write?

Answer- I am planning on writing two more books in this series. Alot of my decision is based on my readers. If they want to see more of Dean and the other characters in this book. Then I will write a trilogy. I have already started to write the second book it's called THE FINISHING but again I'm waiting to see to see what the readers want. I am hoping they will want more.
